Charity

Foster’s is also involved with Domestic Violence Services (DVS) of Greater New Haven which helps thousands of victims of domestic violence every year. For more information, please visit http://www.dvsgnh.org/. Every year during the holidays we make a gingerbread house for the shelter. Money is donated thru the chimney of the house and collected for the shelters use while the cookie and candy is for the children in these shelters. In 2009 $589 was raised, with help from our guests, and was matched by the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven. In 2008 we raised $621 for the shelter and it was also graciously matched by The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven. We would like to thank all of you who have donated for your contributions to this cause.

The Holiday season of 2009 was a busy one for all of us at Foster’s Restaurant. We were requested to design and construct a gingerbread house for the Ronald McDonald House charity.  The houses were auctioned off to help benefit the charity, and there were awards given to specific houses.  Our Foster house was lucky enough to be awarded “Best Dream House”.  For more information about the Ronald McDonald House charity you can visit them at http://www.rmh-ct.org
